MP 3100 HV G3
Multi Source Player

The Multi Source SACD-Player

We believe that source diversity and audiophile sound quality can coexist in perfect harmony. That’s why our team, in developing the MP 3100 HV G3, has not only optimised the playback quality of each individual source, but also expanded the range of usable sources through the integration of cutting-edge protocols. From our third-generation Audiophile Streaming Architecture and the unique Path Separation Technology that enables separate PCM and DSD data processing, to a custom-engineered SACD drive, the MP 3100 HV G3 elevates everything we have achieved so far: sound quality, convenience, and source versatility.

A wide array of additional sources, including internet radio, local network sources via LAN and WLAN, USB master mode, and an outstanding FM, FM-HD, and DAB+ tuner, as well as Bluetooth connectivity and streaming services for seamless transmission from mobile devices, make the MP 3100 HV G3 a source of extraordinary versatility matched only by its superior quality.
For even greater convenience, the MP 3100 HV G3 is capable of processing DSD files up to DSD 512, not only through the USB input of the Digital Connecting Board but also directly through the streaming client, without any detrimental conversions, before delivering it to the True 1-Bit DAC for analogue conversion.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail at our headquarters in Herford, Germany, and assembled by hand from solid aluminium by our specialists, the MP 3100 HV G3 is far more than just an audio device. It is the embodiment of our commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and technological innovation – always in service of the music.

Audiophile Streaming
Architecture G3

Our Audiophile Streaming Architecture of the third generation creates a seamless audiophile connection between the HV Series and the digital world. During its development, the focus was placed not only on maximising sonic potential but also on expanding the diversity of sources. The Streaming Generation 3 network boards process incoming signals via WLAN and LAN, enabling HV series streamers to access streaming services like Deezer, Qobuz, and Tidal, as well as play local network files up to 192/24 (HD), and even streams from mobile devices through Connect or AirPlay services in audiophile quality.
In addition to its convenient Connect features, each streaming-capable HV device also offers the ability to play uncompressed FLAC files via aptX HD Bluetooth technology. A true milestone in T+A’s history is the ability of the ASA G3 to natively stream DSD files directly from the network for the first time. To ensure the highest possible playback quality, this stream is delivered to the T+A True 1-Bit DAC, which processes DSD files in their native bitstream without any quality loss.
In this way, a wide array of easily accessible sources is paired with the exceptional sound quality that has always been the hallmark of T+A.

Path Separation
Technology

Our T+A converter architecture is unique because it breaks away from the conventional approach to digital-to-analogue conversion: DSD signals are typically processed by being converted to PCM before playback in the PCM mode. This conversion, however, goes against our principles, which is why we developed the T+A True 1-Bit Converter. It processes DSD files natively without any harmful conversions, ensuring they are reproduced in their purest form via a true 1-bit stream. In contrast, PCM signals are processed through the equally proprietary T+A Quadruple Converter, which employs a dual-symmetrical design with eight 32-bit Burr-Brown converters. This configuration significantly compensates for any tonal non-linearities, reducing the already minimal noise by an additional 6 dB. The result is astonishing dynamic range and linearity, coupled with an equally impressive absence of distortion. The set of bespoke T+A Bezier filters within the Quadruple Converter allow for the sound to be tailored to individual preferences or the recording. By utilising these polynomials, we achieve optimal time-domain performance for each of the six available filters, two of which are NOS stages. This flexibility ensures that listeners experience music exactly as they desire, without compromising the core values of T+A’s exceptional audio fidelity.

CD-SACD Drive

We believe that High End audio is about maximising what is already exceptional. To elevate sound quality to ever-greater heights, it is the seemingly small details that make the critical difference between mere sound and the true T+A experience. Only when a drive operates with absolute smoothness can even the smallest reading errors be eliminated, errors that cannot be corrected later in the signal processing.
This flawless operation is ensured by an innovative mounting mechanism housed within a shielded aluminium enclosure, machined from a single solid block of aluminium rather than assembled from separate parts. The entire mechanism moves solely on two precision-tolerated linear bearings made of aluminium, mounted on a precisely milled support plate. Three screws both secure and decouple the drive from the housing, preventing mechanical vibrations, pressure waves, or similar disturbances from entering the system.
A high-torque synchronous motor moves the drive block smoothly and almost silently along a decoupled precision spindle. Additionally, an anti-resonance weight reinforces and stabilises the drive, ensuring the highest level of quality.

Signal Processing

The sound quality of any digital source is crucially dependent on the quality of the digital signal processing and the overall converter design. In both these areas we offer extremely sophisticated solutions.
Depending on the data format, the signals from our players’ digital sources - both external and internal - pass through the same digital signal processing with all our pioneering features, such as T+A DSP oversampling with optimised algorithms (for PCM), clock generation with jitter elimination and re-synchronisation as well as our Path Separation Technology featuring true 1-bit conversion for DSD and quadruple conversion for PCM.

De-Jitter Masterclock

To ensure that every note, every pluck of a string, and every whisper of a voice is transmitted exactly as it was recorded, the signals must be free from falsification. One such falsification, known as jitter, originates within the source device. For perfect playback, data must be cleansed of jitter before it is converted into analogue signals by the DAC. That’s why we have developed a two-stage concept for jitter elimination.
This De-Jitter Masterclock processes the incoming data in two steps. In the first step, a raw clock is recovered from the incoming data stream and then cleaned using a PLL circuit to remove the most significant jitter caused by the source device and the transmission path. In the second stage, this raw clock is meticulously analysed by a microprocessor. Only if the clock meets specific minimum criteria for frequency accuracy and stability will the D/A converters be switched to a highly precise master clock, generated by finely tuned quartz oscillators with extremely low phase noise. This clock is completely isolated from the source device, thus fully eliminating jitter.
In cases where the incoming signal does not meet the necessary criteria, a second PLL stage (the "Second Jitterbug") takes over, further refining the signal and reducing residual jitter by a factor of four.
